ESG

Regenerate and transform

More Than a Choice, a Responsibility

At BLTA, we believe that luxury tourism should go beyond excellence in the guest experience: it should create value for destinations, communities, and future generations. That is why we integrate ESG principles — Environmental, Social, and Governance — into our vision and practices, promoting initiatives that value biodiversity, strengthen communities, preserve cultures, and foster ethical and responsible management.

We believe tourism can be a strategic force for Brazil’s socioeconomic development and for the conservation and regeneration of its natural and cultural heritage. Our commitment is to contribute to a model of hospitality that leaves a positive legacy, balancing prosperity, preservation, and well-being.

The ESG Pillars

The foundation of our commitment

E

Environmental

We guarantee the conservation of nature, supporting the implementation of Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs) and regeneration projects. Our focus is to effectively protect the fauna and flora of Brazil, the planet's largest biodiversity powerhouse.

S

Social

We generate positive impact through the training of professionals, employing on average triple the number of collaborators per room compared to conventional tourism. We value local culture, craftsmanship, and traditional knowledge, strengthening communities.

G

Governance

We cultivate transparent and ethical relationships with all stakeholders. Our trajectory is based on open dialogue, collective construction, and effective action, ensuring that luxury tourism is a vector for responsible growth.

The impact in action

Generating value through our associates

The Strategic Role of Hospitality

Associated hotels and resorts continuously invest in team training and support local agriculture practices and traditional knowledge. Furthermore, many implement RPPNs on their properties, demonstrating a practical commitment to conservation.

The Curation of Operators

DMCs play a fundamental role in designing authentic and conscious itineraries. They incorporate social and environmental projects into experiences, creating opportunities for interaction with local communities and raising awareness. These experiences foster real connections that transform both the visitor and the community.

Certification Goals

Certification Goals

The 2029 commitment

BLTA assumes an undeniable commitment:

as of 2029, to be an association with 100% of its members certified in ESG.

Accepted certifications must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Cover the three pillars of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance).
  • Not be self-declared – external audit is required.
  • Be issued by internationally recognized certifiers.
  • Provide for periodic recertification based on concrete evidence, in cycles of 1 to 3 years.
  • Certifications aligned with GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) standards are automatically accepted by BLTA.

The collective path

Call to action

We know that this transformation does not happen in isolation, but through the strength of the collective. The path to truly sustainable luxury tourism requires active listening, constant dialogue, genuine commitment, and courage to innovate. BLTA reaffirms its role as facilitator, guide, and opinion leader.

With member engagement, sharing of best practices, and establishment of strategic partnerships, we will build a new standard of excellence for Brazilian tourism — a standard that integrates purpose, regeneration, and socio-environmental responsibility.

The future is now — and it will be sustainable.
