Ibitipoca - Minas Gerais

A regenerative retreat with purpose

An experimental socio-environmental project focused on living beings and their home: the planet.

Creating a 6,000-hectare green belt through a rewilding process, while also embracing a strong social commitment. Based on regenerative tourism, we invest in the region’s economic sustainability and are home to three internationally awarded hotels — Engenho Lodge, Ibiti Village, and Remote. With rustic yet sophisticated architecture, they offer transformative experiences that foster a deep connection with nature for families, couples, groups, and outdoor enthusiasts.

At Ibiti Project, these experiences include endless possibilities such as 300 km of trails, dozens of waterfalls, e-bikes, piano recitals, art, spas, and refined Minas Gerais cuisine, thoughtfully designed for diverse and discerning travelers.

Property Details

Ibiti Project is a regenerative tourism and socio-environmental initiative located in the Serra da Mantiqueira, Minas Gerais, on the edge of Ibitipoca State Park. Spanning more than 6,000 hectares undergoing rewilding, it promotes Atlantic Forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable development of local communities. The property features three distinct accommodation concepts—Engenho Lodge, Ibiti Village, and Remote—along with over 300 km of trails, waterfalls, spas, art, garden-to-table cuisine, and experiences that combine wellness, nature, culture, and sustainability in one of the world's most innovative regenerative hospitality destinations.

Gastronomy

Ibiti's culinary experience celebrates the flavors of Minas Gerais through a garden-to-table philosophy. Seasonal menus follow the harvest of more than 270 organic foods grown on the property, highlighting fresh ingredients, local producers, and the connection between nature, culture, and the table.

Experiences

At Ibiti, nature provides the setting for transformative experiences. Hiking, e-bike tours, horseback riding, waterfalls, spas, piano recitals, stargazing, art, wellness activities, and immersive culinary experiences invite guests to slow down, explore the landscape, and create unforgettable memories.

Our commitment

  • Conservation: 6,000 hectares preserved or undergoing regeneration protect local biodiversity.

  • Rewilding: reintroduction of native Atlantic Forest species to restore ecosystems and recover biodiversity.

  • Wildlife protection: partnerships support the recovery of the northern muriqui, a critically endangered Atlantic Forest species.

  • Local economy: the Entrepreneurs Project supports local businesses, generating income and sustainable development.

  • Sustainable production: Gaia Produtos Ecológicos grows food without pesticides and supplies much of the restaurants.
