BLTA Manifesto for Sustainability
At BLTA (Brazilian Luxury Travel Association), we believe that sustainability is more than a choice — it is an urgent responsibility. It is not enough to simply sustain; we must regenerate, transform, and leave a legacy that transcends generations.
We are committed to integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles at the core of our practices and decisions, promoting luxury tourism that respects nature, values communities, and fosters transparent and ethical relationships with all stakeholders.
Our vision for the future is clear: to be a global reference in sustainable luxury tourism in Brazil, serving as an example and inspiration for the entire sector. To achieve this, our journey is based on open dialogue, collective building, and effective action.
We pledge to:
Starting in 2029, be an association with 100% of its members certified in ESG.
The accepted certifications must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Cover all three ESG pillars (Environmental, Social, and Governance);
- Not be self-declared;
- Be issued by globally recognized certifying bodies;
- Provide for periodic recertification based on evidence;
- Certifications based on GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) standards are automatically accepted.
We understand that this transformation does not happen in isolation, but rather through the power of the collective. The path toward truly sustainable luxury tourism requires active listening, ongoing dialogue, genuine commitment, and the courage to innovate. Throughout this process, BLTA reaffirms its role as a facilitator, guide, and opinion leader — inspiring and supporting its members on their journey toward ESG certification.
With the engaged participation of its members, the sharing of best practices, the strengthening of relationships with communities, and the establishment of strategic partnerships, we will build a new standard of excellence for Brazilian tourism — one that integrates purpose, regeneration, and socio-environmental responsibility.
This manifesto represents not only a formal commitment but also a call to continuous action, constant improvement, and the construction of a legacy that values the present while preserving the future. May every step taken by BLTA and its members strengthen Brazil’s image as a responsible, ethical, and transformative luxury destination on the global stage.
The future is now — and it will be sustainable.
